Production of the Highly Anticipated Subaru Ascent Has Begun

The 2019 Subaru Ascent will be the largest vehicle that Subaru has ever released. That fact, combined with the automaker's reputation for rugged and dependable vehicles, has many of its customers champing at the bit to get their hands on one. It's recently been revealed that their wait is one step closer to an end.

Why exactly is that? Because the Subaru Ascent is officially now in factory production.

Being built at Subaru's plant in Lafayette, IN, the SUV joins vehicles like the Outback, Legacy, and Impreza, all of which are constructed at the factory. "The Subaru Ascent is a great addition to our production line-up,” said Tom Easterday, the Senior Executive Vice President of Subaru of Indiana. “Production of this outstanding new family vehicle allowed us to create hundreds of new jobs at SIA, and also at our suppliers in Indiana and across the country.”

The Ascent's production is expected to produce 200 new jobs in the area and represents a $140 million expansion to the factory. The Ascent itself is expected to start hitting dealerships in the middle of 2018. With three rows of seating, solid performance values, and a bevy of valuable features, it's understandably expected to be a hit.
