Facial Recognition Makes the 2019 Subaru Forester a Paragon of Safety and Convenience

Our favorite Japanese automaker always has something new to be excited about and, this time around, it's a real doozy! The upcoming 2019 Subaru Forester was just revealed at the New York International Auto Show but, of all the new features and functions it displays, the facial recognition technology is easily the most exciting! Let's take a look at what it will bring to your drives through Macomb, MI and beyond.

This facial recognition technology - called Subaru DriverFocus - utilizes a small infra-red camera mounted on top of the dashboard to scan your face for various features. In terms of safety, the camera can identify if you're tired or not paying attention to the road, and can alert you with an audible alarm and even apply emergency braking if necessary. On the convenience side of things, the camera can recognize and remember up to five faces, allowing it to automatically readjust your seating and mirror positions based on your saved preferences. We haven't used it yet and we're already wondering how we've lived without it!

We're waiting for the 2019 Forester's arrival in the fall of this year, so stay tuned for more details as they arise in the near future. If you need an incredible ride right now, we'd love to show you everything the current 2018 Subaru Forester has to offer, so come visit us here at Sellers Subaru and get the hands-on car-buying experience we know you deserve.
